About the role

We are seeking a hands-on Interface Analyst with Epic Bridges certification to join our clinical integration team onsite in Daly City. The ideal candidate has strong experience building, supporting and troubleshooting HL7 interfaces and working with enterprise interface engines. This role will own end-to-end interface delivery between Epic and external systems, ensuring accurate, reliable clinical data flows that support patient care and downstream systems.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, validate and deploy Epic Bridges interfaces (Epic ↔ external systems).
  • Develop and maintain HL7 V2 message mappings and transformations (ADT, ORM, ORU, MDM, DFT, etc.).
  • Configure, maintain and troubleshoot interface engines (examples: Rhapsody, Cloverleaf, Mirth/Corepoint/Iguana/Ensemble) and message queues.
  • Perform unit testing, system integration testing (SIT) and support user acceptance testing (UAT) for interface changes.
  • Monitor interfaces and queues, investigate and resolve message failures and performance issues.
  • Collaborate with clinical, technical and vendor teams to gather requirements and translate into interface specifications.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, data flow diagrams and build specifications.
  • Execute cutovers, releases and production support activities; participate in after-hours support when necessary.
  • Provide clear status updates and escalate issues appropriately.

Requirements

Required qualifications

  • Epic Bridges certification (required).
  • Proven hands-on experience designing and supporting HL7 interfaces (V2).
  • Strong experience with one or more interface engines (e.g., Rhapsody, Cloverleaf, Mirth/Corepoint/Iguana/Ensemble).
  • Solid troubleshooting skills with message tracing, logs and queue management.
  • Proficiency with data mapping, field-level transformations and working knowledge of common clinical message types.
  • Familiarity with SQL, basic scripting (e.g., Python, JavaScript, shell) and Linux/Windows environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication — able to explain technical details to clinical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred qualifications

  • 3+ years of healthcare interface/EHR integration experience.
  • Experience with Epic interface build tools and Epic integration best practices.
  • Experience with format conversions (XML/JSON) and web service integrations (REST/SOAP).
  • Prior on-call/after-hours production support experience.
