This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who enjoys working directly with contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and property owners to resolve payment disputes on construction projects.
The firm has a steady pipeline of construction-related work and represents clients across the industry in matters involving mechanics liens, bond claims, and construction contract disputes.
What You'll Work On
This role focuses heavily on mechanics lien strategy, enforcement, and litigation. Attorneys in the group help clients protect their right to payment while navigating the strict statutory requirements that govern lien claims.
Typical matters include:
Preparing and filing mechanics lien notices and lien statements
Advising clients on lien perfection and statutory compliance
Handling lien foreclosure actions
Representing property owners in lien challenges and removal
Managing payment bond claims on public and private projects
Litigating construction contract and payment disputes
The position offers meaningful client interaction and the opportunity to work on matters from initial lien strategy through litigation and resolution.
Ideal Candidate
The firm is seeking an attorney who:
Has 5+ years of litigation experience, ideally involving mechanics liens
Is comfortable navigating statutory lien requirements and deadlines
Enjoys working closely with construction industry clients
Has strong writing, analytical, and litigation skills
Is licensed in Missouri and Illinois, or is willing to obtain admission in the additional jurisdiction
Attorneys with construction litigation, creditor rights, or commercial litigation experience who are interested in developing deeper expertise in mechanics lien law are encouraged to apply.
